The Katahdin Area Council serves youth across northern and eastern Maine through four districts, each supporting local Scouting units with training, guidance, and community-based programs. District committees and commissioners help organize events, recruit leaders, and ensure Scouts have the support they need to thrive.
Serving the northernmost communities of Aroostook County, the district connects Scouts with local programs, events, and leadership support.
Covering Penobscot and Piscataquis counties, this district features Mount Katahdin, Moosehead Lake, Bangor, and countless trails, rivers, and lakes for outdoor adventure.
Home to coastal towns, Fort Knox, and the Belfast waterfront, Waldo District offers Scouts opportunities for outdoor programs, service projects, and community engagement.
Including Maine’s easternmost towns like Eastport, Lubec, Machias, and Calais, Sunrise District provides Scouts with unique coastal adventures, cultural experiences, and strong local support.
