Membership Fees & Registration

Joining Scouting is simple, affordable, and full of opportunities for your child. Fees cover national registration, insurance, program materials, and support for youth and adult members. All current national and unit fees are listed below.

  • Annual Membership – Fees cover 12 months from the date of registration.
  • Local Council Insurance Fee – A $5 annual insurance fee is required for all youth and adult members in the Katahdin Area Council.
  • Transfers & Multiple Roles – Youth transferring between units or programs do not pay again; adult volunteers with multiple registrations pay for only one position.
  • Local/Unit Fees – Units may collect additional dues to support activities, supplies, and local programs.
  • Financial Assistance – Scholarships or payment plans may be available; contact your unit or council for support.
