NEW! Trapper John’s Maine Canoe Expedition
Join Trapper John (yes, a real person) for an 8-10 day, 90 mile expedition along the old trading routes of the Allagash River in Maine’s Allagash Wilderness Waterway. Listen to Trapper John’s tails of days gone by, experience up close and personal moose encounters along the portage trails, and enjoy the untouched wildness of Maine’s natural beauty. And then there is Trapper John’s infamous "five-star menu" meal. In the past, participants have been treated to an evening of filet mignon or fresh lobster (picked up on the docks in Portland) or pork ribs. This program is conducted similar to national high adventure programs. As such, similar preparations and qualifications will be in effect. This program will be conducted by two experienced Scout leaders from the Minsi Trails Council. They have conducted this trip many times at the troop level and are now are offering it throughout the Council. This program is definitely designed for the older Scouts and Venturers.

REDESIGNED! Fish Camp
Redesigned for 2012, Fish Camp will place you in a cool Pocono Mountain stream casting to a rising native trout. You will also find yourself fishing hidden warm water fisheries for Blue Gill, Bass, and Pickerel with a fly rod or spinning reel rod. Our cold water trout streams feature brown, brook and rainbow trout, just waiting to test your skill! At Fish Camp, you’ll sharpen your skills and get in on the action. Being a good angler is more than just fancy gear and lots of tackle; you need the basic techniques and understand how environment and biology influence fish behavior. We’ll spend a day building and improving fish habitat. Our expert anglers will instruct participants in everything from tying flies to perfecting your cast and understanding how to "read" the water so you’ll know where to fish. Finally, the week culminates with a day-long fish canoe trip through the Delaware River Water Gap. This program is designed in partnership with the Broadhead’s Chapter of Trout Unlimited.

RETURNING! River Trails of the Delaware
Follow the same river trails that Native Americans once traveled. Listen to the sound of the river tumbling over the rocks as you set up camp on some of the very same islands. Learn from their culture and tales. For Venturers and older, more experienced Scouts, River Trails of the Delaware participants spend the week on the Delaware River with a small group of adventurous campers traversing both calm, deep waters and swift, flowing rapids in canoes Participants will earn the 50-Miler (afloat) badge and be exposed to several different areas of history and high adventure along the east’s longest free-flowing river. Venturers and Scouts depart from camp on Monday morning and return Friday for dinner to share their adventures. This program is led by a BSA certified voyageur.

Weekend C.O.P.E.
C OPE is an exciting outdoor activity that can attract and keep older boys in Scouting. It is designed to meet the needs of today's youth who are seeking greater challenges to their physical and mental abilities.
Opportunity for each participant to achieve success as an individual and as a member of a patrol or team.
The activities are not designed to be competitive or to be races against time.
Personal confidence, developing leadership skills and attaining a sense of common cooperation
among team members are some of the more important objectives of Project COPE.
Each COPE participant will build more self-confidence in a shorter length of time than anything most people have experienced. Most participants find they can do much more than they initially thought they could.
In keeping with B.S.A National C.O.P.E. Standards, participants minimum age of 13 or the rank of first class scout.
As always, SAFETY comes FIRST, Learning and Fun are next, BUT NOT at the cost of SAFETY.
After your arrival in camp there will be a brief orientation period on Friday night as prearranged. C.O.P.E. activities will begin on Saturday morning and continue throughout the day with a brief lunch break.
NOTE: All those camping do not need to be participating in COPE. Someone else in the unit should prepare lunch for those doing COPE. Keep the menu light for lunch. They will be hungry come dinner.
