Eagle Award Candidate Guidelines
This document was up-dated on January 10, 2014 and will provide you with guidelines to help you meet the requirements and fill out the paperwork to become an Eagle Scout. Included is the information you need to fill out your project workbook and a check sheet to use for filling out your Eagle application.
Eagle Project Workbook (New Expandable .PDF, as of January 1, 2012)
New functionalities for this electronic workbook include expandable text boxes and the abilitiy to insert iamges in JPEG, GIF, TIF and PNG formats. Before you download the new workbook, be sure you have the most recent version of Adobe Acrobate reader. The new functionality may not work in older versions. Effective January1, 2012 work book No. 512-927 MUST be used.

Eagle Scout Rank
To earn the rank, a Boy Scout must:
Progress through the ranks in the following order:
Earn 21 merit badges, including these 12 required:
Citizenship in the Community
Citizenship in the Nation
Citizenship in the World
Environmental Science or Sustainability
Emergency Preparedness or Lifesaving
Cycling or Hiking or Swimming
The Scout must also complete the following requirements
Serve six months in a troop leadership position.
Boy Scouts with disabilities may qualify for the Eagle Scout rank by fulfilling alternative requirements as determined by their council.
Plan, develop, and give leadership to a service project for a religious community organization or a school.
Take part in a Scoutmaster conference.
Successfully complete an Eagle Scout board of review.
