Trexler Scout Reservation
Is Located in the beautiful Pocono Mountains. On January 14, 1927, at the height of the roaring twenties, General Harry C. Trexler donated land to his community. He turned a lush tract of land in Monroe County into a camp for Boy Scouts of Lehigh County Council. The camp opened in 1928 and celebrated its 75th Anniversary in 2003. Trexler Scout Reservation is nestled on 900 acres and includes a Cub Scout Camp and a Boy Scout Camp, two lakes with fishing, boating and canoeing, and two staffed waterfronts. The reservation also has over 25 miles of hiking and orienteering trails.
Settlers Camp, the reservation's Boy Scout Camp, has individual features such as archery, shotgun, and rifle ranges and one of the largest C.O.P.E climbing and high ropes courses in the Northeast Region of the Boy Scouts of America. The camp also offers its unique program areas, state of art nature lodge, and an innovative approach to earning Eagle Merit Badges at camp in a program called "Area 7". Settlers features age-specific programs such as a Frist Year Camper Program and much more.
Akelaland, the reservation's Cub Scout Camp, offers the perfect setting for a Cub Scout family activity. It features Cub Scout age programs with involvement from parents and leaders. We offer a dual aquatics program; swimming pool and lake area with boating. Upgraded showers and comfort stations. Full dining hall and kitchen facilities to meet the needs of our families.
Is located on the shore of Stillwater Lake atop the beautiful Pocono Mountains in Pocono Summit, PA. donated by Samuel Rubel of New York City to the Boy Scouts in 1949. Camp Minsi encompasses 1200 acres of relatively flat woodlands, The 321 - acre Stillwater Lake was previously used for ice harvesting. Remnants of those facilities can still be seen. Today, Stillwater Lake's most important product is to provide sailing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and other aquatic activities to the hundreds of Scouts and leaders who attend weekly throughout the summer camp season. Minsi has 10 large campsites with capacities that range from 30-60 campers. The camp has 20 miles of hiking trails and a varied wildlife that provides the opportunity of experiencing and interacting with nature first hand.
